For a little over a month, we worked on the kitchen remodel. First we removed the countertops. Then we moved the tall pantry cabinet to the opposite end of the cabinets on that wall. Installed a new lower cabinet in its place as well as a new cabinet to the left of the sink where the old desk/empty space was. (Again, click or roll over the pictures to see the captions.)
Next we laid plywood over the counters to be a base for cement-board for tiles.
We selected ceramic tile from the local tile wholesaler, Casa Mexicana, for the back-splash, edges, and trim. For the counter work surfaces we used tiles left over from the floors.
After about six weeks of living in a partially disassembled kitchen and a fair bit of cabinet paint, we finally finished. Don’t think it came out too bad for a couple of rookie kitchen remodelers……..
